Privacy policy
Updated 26 October 2026 · Current app behaviour
Your money, on your device
SpendCatch stores your profile, accounts, transactions, budgets, goals and shared-expense records on this device. Bank SMS are parsed locally. They are not uploaded to an advertising or usage-analytics service by this build.
Optional permissions
SMS access detects bank transactions. Contacts access helps name people in shared expenses. Calendar access writes bill and reminder events to your selected phone calendar; that calendar provider may sync them according to your calendar settings. You can skip these permissions and use manual entries, or revoke permissions in Android settings.
When data leaves your phone
Exports, backups and messages: files and details you choose to export or share go to your chosen destination or app. Automatic backups use a selected local phone folder. Receipt file bytes are not included in current backups.
Upcoming features
Payment notification tracking, Gmail bill tracking, and Family & friends sharing are planned features and are not available in the current release. The current release does not capture payment notifications, connect to Gmail, or share financial records through Family & friends. We will update this policy with the relevant data handling and choices before these features become available.
Ads, analytics and the assistant
This build has no integrated advertising SDK, owner usage-analytics dashboard or cloud AI service. The money assistant uses local rules. Any future collection needs an updated disclosure and applicable choices before activation. Accepting this page does not enable ads, analytics or Android permissions.
Security and your choices
The local login is a convenience gate, not a cloud account or encryption of all on-device records. Exported encrypted backups use a password or recovery key; keep these safe. No app can guarantee zero risk of a data leak.
Use Settings to manage permissions and backups. To erase this device profile and its saved records, open Android Settings → Apps → SpendCatch → Storage → Clear storage. SpendCatch has no cloud account that can be erased remotely. Deleting local data does not delete files you exported, copies held by recipients, or calendar-provider copies. Clearing Android app storage also removes this device's saved data and receipts. Export anything you need first.

Questions about SpendCatch or your data: support@polaristika.dev.
When you accept the policy in the app, your policy acceptance version and time are saved with that device's profile. Optional permissions remain separate choices. You can return to this page from You → Privacy & data.
Deleting your device profile and records
SpendCatch profiles are created and operated on your device. There is no SpendCatch cloud account or remote copy of your profile that support can erase.
- Export a backup first if you want to keep your records.
- Open Android Settings → Apps → SpendCatch → Storage → Clear storage.
- Delete exported backups, receipt exports and shared files separately from their saved locations. Remove calendar copies from your selected calendar if needed.
For help, email support@polaristika.dev. Please do not send passwords, OTPs, complete bank SMS or account credentials.
